Born in Malorossiya, in the family of a priest. Educated in Novgorod-northern, Chernihiv, and Alexander Nevsky Seminary. In 1803, he was tonsured a monastery named Apollos and served as an inspector and teacher at the Tikhvin School. In 1805, he was ordained archimandrite of the Beijing Sretensky Monastery and sent to a Chinese mission, but before reaching Beijing, he settled in Irkutsk We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
