Description: Short description: In Russian (ask us if in doubt). One of the first book publications in Russia of the texts of the most significant of the French writers of the turn of the century, Henri de Rainier (1864-1936), considered one of the greatest masters of the word known in world literature. The first separate edition of a series of short stories in Russian, published in 1897 by Public Domain and subsequently included by the author in his first prose book, the Yashmov Cane, which included two more cycles of novelties. The translation was made by one of the outstanding writers of the Silver Age, the art critic and fine literary connoisseur Maximilian Voloshin (1877-1932), who named de Rainier among his closest writers: Among the middle-generation French poets, in whom all French art is now concentrated, Henri de Rainier occupies a central place both as a poet and a prose.
