Around the same time, P.M. Golubitsky developed the first Russian phone of original design. The book describes the theory of the phone, describes the characteristics of the first devices, including historical models such as the Teague phone, Varey and Fiche microphones, Edison's simple coal phone, and many others. The book was written by the French physicist, academic, and electricity researcher Theodore du Monsel, one of the first authors of books on telegraphy.
