This was its main significance; 4) Almost all the statesmen of the latter times of ancient Greece meant the restoration of obsolete forms of old life; 5) Tribal life conditioned all the phenomena of Greek history; the first attempt to break out of these tight conditions of hegemony ended in nothing, and the continuation of Greek history could only be made by a man free from all the prehistoric old ways; 6) We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
