Description: Short description: In Russian (ask us if in doubt). In the paper, the author defends the following points: 1) Hegemony of Athens was Greece's first decisive attempt to escape from natural urban life; it developed concepts of state; 2) Sparta, although it opposed Athenians and their hegemony at the beginning, but, fascinated by the new needs of the time, was itself, unwittingly, the salesman of the new hegemony; 3) Hegemony of Thebes connected northern Greece with Gellada. This was its main significance; 4) Almost all the statesmen of the latter times of ancient Greece meant the restoration of obsolete forms of old life; 5) Tribal life conditioned all the phenomena of Greek history; the first attempt to break out of these tight conditions of hegemony ended in nothing, and the continuation of Greek history could only be made by a man free from all the prehistoric old ways; 6) We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
