Description:
Short description: In Russian (ask us if in doubt).A professor at the University of Heidelberg (since 1817), Schlosser took a moralistic and enlightening stand against the reactionary-romantic apology of the Middle Ages, feudal despotism, and the ideals of the Enlightenment and bourgeois revolutions of the 16th and 18th centuries. Schlosser, however, was generally negative about the peasant and plebeian movements of bourgeois revolutions in Germany (the 16th century) and France (the 18th century), but at the same time sympathized with the leftist movement in the English Revolution of the 17th century.
