Description: Short description: The book contains the story of Nikolai Alexandrovich Leykin, a Russian journalist and writer who wrote many humorous works, the main subject of which was the mores of St. Petersburg merchants, as well as merchant-philistine life. He published the humorous weekly Shrapnel in St. Petersburg, involving many former employees of Iskra, in which he had previously published himself, V.V. Bilibin (I. Grek), L.I. Palmin, L.N. Trefolev, and others. It was in this magazine, under various pseudonyms, including Anthosha Chekhonte, that he began printing stories by A.P. Chekhov, publishing more than 200 works in Shrapnel for five years (1882-1887). Please feel free to contact us for a detailed description of the copies available. SKUbd-40fac6dd6e6c2bb4
