Nikolinas collection of parables was the result of Alexey Mikhailovich Remizovs work (1877-1957) on legends about Nikolai the Miracle Worker: it includes 24 legends and the end of the address-prayer to St. Nicholas. In the postscript Remizov pointed out that Nikolinas collection of parables was based on folk tales, fairy tales, bylines, and listed the sources he used in his work: editions of fairy tales and legends by A.N. Afanasyev, A.E. Gruzinsky, materials from works by P.A. Bezsonov, works by E.V.
