The idea for the publication of the magazine originated in the Moscow circle of Argonavta symbolists. Hence the title Golden Fleece. The magazine was the first to introduce the reader to the work of the masters of association: A.N. Benoit, K.A. Somov, L.S. Bakst, E.E. Lancere, N.K. Roerich, and others; and to the work of young Moscow innovators, such as V. Kuznetsov, M.S. Saryan, M.F. Larionov, N.S. Goncharov.
