Short description: On January 6, 1948, the Minister of Aviation Khrunichev reported to Stalin that factories # 45 and 500 were to copy the Nin-1. The first engines were made on December 30-31, 1948, and were named RD-45 (2150 kgs thrust). On July 8, 1948, the first flight of the IL-28 jet front bomber with Nin-1 engines took place.
