Short description: A detailed report on the construction of a monument to Alexander II in the Moscow Kremlin. The publication includes a large number of photographs, diagrams and detailed plans. A monument to Alexander II, designed in Russian style by the architect Nikolai Sultanov, the artist Pavel Zhukovsky and the sculptor Alexander Opekushin. Opened in 1898 at the Small Nikolaevsky Palace on the slope of Borovitsky Hill facing the Moscow River. Dismantled by Bolsheviks in 1918-1928.
